Heritage Hunters gives students the inspiration for and the signposts to different ways of exploring objects, and provides a forum where the stories of these objects can be told. Supported by funding from the Heritage Council, this project will swing into gear in September 2014. Using as their starting point an education resource on this website, students will select an object and engage with it on a number of different levels – intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and creatively. Here, schools will find a ‘how-to’ for engaging with an object, how to get to the essence of what the object is about and how to tell the story of the object. They will draw on all of these perspectives to tell the story of the object, exploring how best to express that story, and presenting it at a display in Kerry County Museum.
