Enter our public speaking competition for secondary schools

ARTiculation Ireland is a public speaking competition which promotes the appreciation and discussion of art, artefacts and architecture in secondary schools throughout Ireland. The competition seeks to engage students between 15-19 years, regardless of background or experience, with art to develop the confidence and ability to express their opinions and conclusions. Kerry County Museum is the proud cultural partner institution for all Kerry secondary schools.

We are now looking for schools to get involved in ARTiculation 2024. Participating students are invited to participate in a Discovery Day workshop either at their school, online or in the museum. These workshops are designed to introduce students and teachers to ARTiculation Ireland, improve personal observation, analysis skills and help participants become more comfortable with the act of public speaking.

Kerry County Museum also offers practical workshops in public speaking and offers project support from start to finish. Ultimately, students are offered the chance to deliver a ten-minute presentation before their peers and a wider audience about a work of art, an artefact or piece of architecture of their choice, through a series of internal school heats and regional heats across Ireland with the chance of being selected for the All Ireland Final, which typically takes place in April.
