Biodiversity Week: Tralee Town Park Discovery Challenge

May 17, 2022 @ 9:30 am - May 21, 2022 @ 5:00 pm

| Free

To mark Biodiversity Week 2022, we are launching our new Tralee Town Park Spotter Sheets and challenge you to go on a journey of discovery to explore all of Tralee Town Park’s hidden gems. Simply pick up your free copy and a pencil at Kerry County Museum and head into the Town Park. We took 22 pictures all around the park. Can you locate where? Be sure to tick the box every time you find the correct spot and keep a record of your tally.

Did you know that Tralee Town Park is one of the largest urban parks in Ireland? It extends to 35 acres – about the size of 20 football fields – and is locally known as ‘The Green’. It was originally planted by the Denny family in the 17th century and remained a private park until 1922. Today, the park has over 1000 trees, five kilometers of walkways, a stunning Rose Garden with over 6000 roses and an award-winning Garden of the Senses. Many more quirky features, statues and memorials can be found throughout.

Our Town Park Spotter Sheets are available in English, Irish and Ukrainian and are available at Reception at Kerry County Museum. We are currently open Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30am until 5pm (last admission is at 4pm).
