The Tomb in the Lab

Using 21st century science to reveal the Neolithic secrets of Killaclohane Portal Tomb, three days of discussions, demonstrations and displays. 

Killaclohane Portal Tomb near Milltown in mid Kerry is the oldest

known man-made structure in the county. It underwent a major
excavation and restoration programme during the summer of 2015
and the artifacts found have been subjected to intensive scientific
scrutiny. The techniques used in these tests and the results they
have yielded are the subject of our three day seminar.

Date: Monday (Nov 13) – Wednesday (Nov 15) – Thursday (Nov 16)

Time:10:00 am – 2:15 pm

Venue: Omniplex, Dan Spring Road, Tralee (adjacent to the Aqua Dome)

Cost: €5 per person (No charge for teachers accompanying classes)

For groups and classes booking is essential and tickets must to be
purchased from Kerry County Museum on or before Monday,
November 6 to confirm places.
Individuals can also book a place and purchase their ticket from the
Museum on or before Monday, November 6 to confirm their place.
A small number of tickets may be available to buy at the Omniplex
on each of the days but it will be ‘first come, first served’ and there
is no guarantee a space will be available.
