Summer 2023 is the second year of Dig Tralee, a major archaeological excavation at Knockanacuig, the site of a prehistoric monument complex on the western side of the town. The aim of the project is to explore this ancient monument and uncover what role it might have played in the origins of Tralee. The dig will be led by a team of professional archaeologists with support from community volunteers.

We’re looking for people who have an interested in archaeology and history, like working outdoors, and are keen to learn new skills by working alongside experts. They must also be happy to engage with a film crew who will be making a record of the project. If you’d like to be part of the quest let us know before April 19.

Take a moment to read through this leaflet to fully appraise yourself about the project and what your participation would entail.

If you’d like to be part of the quest email us with your mobile number before April 19th and let us know for how many days – three, five, or ten – you will be available: info@kerrymuseum.ie
